Paramedic is the highest level of licensure in the Emergency Medical Services Profession. Many departments today employ only paramedics creating a demand that all-but guarantees a job to all graduates.

Application Process 

(Spring Applications Open 9/3/24 & Close 12/16/24)

In order to apply to the Paramedic Program at Weatherford College, you must complete the following: 

1) Complete the Weatherford College Application

2)  Submit official copies of all transcripts including High School and any College to Admissions and Records.

3) Submit proof of meningitis vaccine to Admissions and Records if under the age of 21.

4) Complete the TSI Exam (Not required for college graduates or military/veterans) If Military, please contact Tammy Peters at 817-598-6243

 1) Start with downloading the Spring 2025 Paramedic Packet

2) Carefully review the Essential Functions section of this packet. This document describes the physical and mental tasks the EMS profession requires. If you believe you have a disability that will 
require accommodations during the application process or during your enrollment as a student, please contact the EMS Department as soon as possible.

Obtain the following for CastleBranch and upload them into the medical tracker as outlined in the Paramedic Packet

  • Proof of the following vacccines:

    • Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (2 doses required or blood titer drawn within 6 months of program start date) 

    •  Varicella (2 doses required or blood titer drawn within 6 months of program start date)

    • Hepatitis B (2 or 3-shot series based on vaccine requirement or blood titer drawn within 6 months of program start date)

    • Tetanus, diphtheria (within 10-years) 

    • PPD TB Skin test completed within the last year or a negative chest x-ray within the last 3 years. 

    • Influenza for the current season

  • Proof of a American Heart Association BLS CPR card.

    • CPR cards from the Redcross or Heartsaver CPR will not be accepted. 

  • Proof of health insurance

  • Proof of EMT certification

For the Spring 2025 Application Period:

Complete the Paramedic Entrance Exam. Exams can be scheduled using the link within the packet. 

The Paramedic Entrance Exam should only be taken after Step 1, 2, & 3 have been started. 

Please bring offical transcripts, notoraized cadet waiver form, and demographics form located at the back of the Paramedic Packet to the exam. 

Each applicant must submit a essay of intent to be considered for the Paramedic Program. Details of the essay can be found in the Paramedic Packet. 

Within 1 week after the application period closes tentative emails of acceptance will go out to those who have been selected into the Paramedic Program. 

Those tentatively accepted will have additional requirements to fulfill.
