WC enrollment breaks record
Enrollment at Weatherford College reached all-time highs this semester.
As of Monday, Sept. 9, there were 6,602 credit students and 1,142 workforce students for a total enrollment of 7,742. This represents a 23.5 percent increase in credit student enrollment and a 51.45 percent jump in workforce enrollment.
Breaking down the numbers for credit students, the Weatherford campus experienced a 13 percent increase with a total of 2,918 students.
Dual credit accounts for the second largest student population with 2,035, up 36 percent from this time last year.
And the nearly 1,100 students classified as online students represent a 42 percent jump from last year.
"We're thrilled to see such significant enrollment growth," said Adam Finley, executive dean and registrar. "This increase is a testament to several key factors, including the expansion of our service area, additional campus housing options, a broader range of program offerings, and the successful PTECH partnership with Weatherford ISD for students in the Grizzard Regional Institute of Technology."
